Learning drawing

I came across Draw a box, which is free, and so I have decided to give it a try. It seems more structured than watching random youtube videos about which art concepts to learn in what order.

They also require you to abide by the “50% rule” while following their course, which promotes more “play” or “exploration” with art.

Here is their video explaining the rule and the reasoning behind it.

They also have other helpful videos for beginners like this one about overcoming the fear of a blank page.

Pixel Art

For learning pixel art, this post at Pixeljoint forums gives an introduction to pixel art and its concepts. This article at AndroidArts is also helpful but is yet to be finished. There are many more free and paid tutorials at Lospec.
